I suspect, depending on your age it’s a sigh of relief that this eyeball searing monstrosity is cancelled, or you’re disappointed because you thought the Vegas one was pretty cool and I dunno you like giant adverts or something .

  1. In Vegas or in the right place this might work, but in central London, it just doesn’t.

In their planning application the developers were keen to show it as a neutrally coloured building and not as it would actually appear – with retina scarring, migraine inducing ads being flashed across it 24/7. I wonder why…

  2. This was obvious, as I’ve said before, you will never get any cool / interesting building projects in London.

The garden bridge is another example.

Things that would put London on the map are always blocked by the boring people that live in London for a few years then leave.

You can say what ever you want about it, but the actual reality is millions of people would visit it, and millions more would photograph it everyday.

It would be popular. People would find it interesting.

This sub would be full of it every single day “look what it’s doing today!” Annoying but proof people would enjoy it

  3. This highlights the mess we’re in politically in this country.

  4. I think if rules were placed about light pollution from this building at night then it could work. Look at things like ABBA Voyage, the experience economy is really strong and this is could add to it.

  5. Well that’s tragic, especially next to the ABBA Voyage post. Now wait a year for the Newham council to go bankrupt.

  6. I’m oddly ambivalent on whether this is a good thing or not, but it makes me incredibly angry that it has taken this long to get here. A decision should have been made far, far quicker.
