  1. As a dog owner I can’t no longer tell my doggo I ll send her to Korea when she misbehaves

  2. > But the bill has also met fierce resistance from dog farmers and business owners who say it will devastate their livelihood and traditions.

That’s certainly barking up the wrong tree.

  3. My messed up brain thought it’s a parody news title. I believed Koreans love to blow their dogs’ meats for fun.

  4. I bet it be available still. Just an excuse to raise prices.

  5. Frankly though, how many South Koreans actually eat dog meat in this day and age? It was going to fade away on its own anywhow.

  6. I think the U.S. should outlaw the cow meat industry, as it’s very offensive to many Indians.

  7. Completely illogical to ban eating the cute animals but whatever

  8. Okay, now ban cows, pigs, chicken, and fish.

Animals shouldn’t die for your pleasure.

  9. I see nothing wrong with eating dog meat. It’s the way they, south Koreans, kill the dog to eat it that is abhorrent. I eat dog and people around me don’t torture the dogs to death.

  10. Remember: only dogs and cats are pets, eating pets is a disgusting idea, every ‘cultured person’ is a vegan when it comes to pets.

Cows, pigs, sheep etc… are not pets, they can be eaten, even though e.g. pigs are [smarter than dogs and even 3 year old children](https://www.humanesociety.org/animals/pigs), the idea that any brainwashing has gone on is clearly ludicrous.

Meanwhile these [toxic animal products](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MagnY1SvQVw) are full of cholesterol, TMAO, Neu5GC, IGF1, heme iron, bioaccumulated toxins, etc… you’d think the message that pets are not food would be clear.

Over 90% of humanity throughout history has made about 90% of their meals the plant-based [starches](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5wfMNNr3ak) in [this color picture book](https://www.drmcdougall.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Dr-McDougall-Color-Picture-Book.pdf) (explained more in [this lecture](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E58pqWHxAjI)), anybody actually doing this is eating like the populations with [virtually no heart disease, diabetes, etc…](https://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2013nl/feb/pritikinpdf3.pdf) who all have total cholesterol [below 150](https://thankful2plants.com/heart-disease/total-cholesterol-150-ldl-70/index.html) or so on average, ignore it all you like, just remember your total cholesterol is likely sky high without the drugs you have to take because of the pets you eat (while mine is 132).

  11. “Why? Let people eat what they want or ban chicken fish pigs too don’t kill animals for your pleasure

  12. > But the bill has also met fierce resistance from dog farmers

That’s not the same farm parents send old and sick dogs to is it?

  13. This is reprehensible. We humans eat all kinds of meat, and you want to draw the lines at dogs? You want to use the power of the government to arrest those who create such product?

You just turned dog meat in the food equivalent of marijuana. You used your own personal prejudice about animals to move law-making.

Or all animals are equal, or none are. I will be dead than let a vegan/muslim majority impose that pigs can’t be eaten.

  14. I just don’t understand the appeal to eat your pets, I live in a country when eating dog meat at drink party, birthday is normal

  15. now they’re gonna have to define what a dog is, aren’t they.

  16. They will simply kill more pigs/chickens/cows instead, so I fail to see how this changes anything.

  17. For anyone who supports this ban they should be sent over there and while eating they tell the citizens where they are from and why they support the bill. This could literally kill people from starvation and the scary part is that might be their intent.
