Israeli forces dismantle underground Hamas weapons manufacturing facility off Gaza coast

IDF forces have successfully uncovered and dismantled a Hamas underground weapons manufacturing facility on the central Gaza coast. In a week-long operation involving the 179th Armored Brigade, Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit, and elite Yahalom combat engineering unit, the troops raided a Hamas compound, discovering tunnel shafts leading to an extensive underground network.

The underground complex, spanning hundreds of meters, contained a weapons cache, including mortars, grenades, and RPGs. Additionally, Shayetet 13 and Yahalom forces found more tunnel shafts nearby, leading to another network with blast door-secured tunnels. Behind these blast doors, a weapons manufacturing plant was uncovered, equipped with machinery, cooling fans, explosive materials, and rocket fuel.

Combat engineers later destroyed the tunnels as part of the operation.
