[Michele Criscitiello] FIGC President, Gabriele Gravina, is preparing a reform of Italian football: Serie A to be changed from 20 clubs to 18, (ADL proposed 16 teams). Serie B to be changed from 20 clubs to 18. Serie C to be changed from 60 clubs to 18. Marotta and Lotito are pushing for this change

  2. Agree with these changes with the way the UEFA and FIFA are trying to increase the number of games these changes are needed.

  3. Please, can’t happen soon enough. Praise the fucking calendar and let the top teams that compete on multiple fronts breathe for a second. 20 is absolutely mental.

  4. Don’t know if it will happen, but it would be better for the league if it did. Better schedule, fewer useless fucks.

  5. Pretty much every year the bottom team finished 15-20 points from the safe zone, and second worst team most times was 10-15 points from not being relegated. It means that those teams were not competitive and was relegated many games before the season ended. Italy cannot produce 20 teams on serie A level, it will be good for the competitiveness and will reduce some of the pressure on the top team players, that have to play too many games per season.
