I think you might be the guy who did all the DIY in my last house before I bought it. Should be in prison.
That’s probably illegal
Found a use for the old PCIe blanking plate!
Not got much going on, mate?
so now you are gatekeeping the grit box? that’s probably worse to be honest.
Well done Karen, hope you’re going to pick up the litter now.
I’m willing to bet not many of your neighbours like you….
Is…is that a PCIE slot cover from a pc case? Genuis.
The one at my workplace is used by the homeless junkies for anything from sleeping bags to drug paraphernalia.
I think people will be a bit salty about this.
Litter is still definitely going to find its way in there 😂
This is peak Reddit. Time to log off, mate.
At least they’re just putting rubbish in it. In some places they put [used needles](https://imgur.com/a/OjnuRL4) in the grit bins.
Your local council is going to be pretty upset with you when they find out.
The grit is for anyone using the roads to use, not just the local community and they deliberately do not lock them to ensure it is easily accessible by all.
Good for you. People are so kind of unbelievable with their rubbish in this country.
Locking up the grit box is such a British thing to do.
Only way to improve on this would be have a sign out sheet for the key.
What a good idea. Not that anyone ever bothers to grit anything anyway.
That sign isn’t going to be legible even if it hasn’t blown away by the end of the week.
for some reason I really braned ‘grit’ into meaning kitty litter
Only need a screwdriver to foil your plan, sir
God forbid you have to pick around a few crisp packets and some empty cans when you’re shovelling out grit during the three months a year it’s actually necessary.
So to avert this ungodly suffering, you’ve taken it upon yourself to put a lock on the public grit bin, and put the key inside the lobby of some vague building… therefore restricting it’s access to you and the other residents / users *of* said building.
Tell me, at what point exactly did you forget the meaning of the word ‘**communal**’?
Why not get a rubbish bin put alongside it.
This is just a tit of a move. How long do you think that note is going to last and what happens to people who don’t have access to your vaguely hinted at building? Where exactly in the lobby is this key? It’s not your bin pal, don’t be a knob. Also, isn’t that green frog tape the low tack tape?
Now if someone slips on the ice you’re liable
I hope your public liability insurance is up to date, accidents can cost a lot to settle when the £500 an hour ambulance chasing lawyers get involved
Would it not be better to request a bin from the council as there is clearly a need?
If they leave their litter in the main building lobby area now, will that be padlocked too?
