Hero saves three-year-old and driver trapped in sinking car during Storm Henk floods

A hero has saved the lives of a three-year-old child and a driver of a car after it was caught sinking in floodwaters caused by Storm Henk on Tuesday 2 January.

A man can be seen dangling from helping the child out of the car which is close to sinking below the road bridge he is standing on in Hall Green, Birmingham.

Storm Henk affected much of south and central England and Wales with heavy rain causing flooding in many areas.

  4. Lol, this makes the news 😅😅😅 sinking car where? plus, if it was a sinking car, the man standing on it isn't helping at all, making it worse 😂😂😂😂 don't be this man and is it just me or is she is a river that's not a road

Read the article on this – the guy and his pregnant partner were on a walk when they saw this, she was recording and on the phone to emergency services, and he managed to get the baby and mum out and secure the car to the bridge – there’s a pic of the empty car with a rope (?) tying it to the bridge. He also insisted that he was no hero.

  6. Again. The real hero is the camera person. If it wasn’t for the likes they intend on getting. Recording the show. The people would still be the car now if not for the camera person recording.
