  8. Fact about media in Poland: Former Ruling Party was in control of TVN, Gazeta Wyborcza and [Onet.pl](https://Onet.pl). State controlled Oil Company Orlen has aquired 20 of 24 regional newspapers, turning the media landscape in a gouvernment controlled propaganda machine.

    It´s basically like Hungary, but happened less open and most people outside Poland did not really notice that news out of poland where mostly pro government state propaganda throughout the last years. I am not even sure how many polish People where aware.

    Still the former ruling party could not prohibit the people from electing the opposition which tries to get things right now. That´s not an easy thing done and the propaganda press, partly still on the side of the former ruling party tries hard to convince the polish people that the new ruling party are criminals.

    So news out of Poland might be real or propaganda. It´s hard to judge from the outside. This story looks fake, tho.
