The Norwegian authorities will test the nation-wide Nødvarsel emergency alert system today, Wednesday January 10th. This means that if you are in Norway, your phone will most likely start making a lot of noise around 12 Noon. This will coincide with the emergency warning typhoons/air raid sirens being tested. This is only a test.
If you do not wish to get the living bejesus scared out of you when your phone starts going bananas, you should turn your phone or tablet completely off or put it in flight mode prior to Noon.

I would recommend to be aware, rather than trying to prevent it.
This way, you know whether it works or not.
If you know that at 12 sharp there will be a loud sound, you shouldn’t be shockingly surprised.
