Sure the glitchy software is to blame for the incorrect entries in the first place. But the management are at fault for lack of due dilligence. In expected fraud or when something looks wrong and contradicts what the employee says happened you have to get actual bank statements and cross reference every transaction to find where every related entry actually went. It’s time consuming and takes months, but it’s better than ruining careers and lives because “computer days so”.
Company Directors receiving huge payouts while they ruin public services is absolutely not news.
Company pays directors money as they make a profit, a very non story aiming to be a story.
And we’re going to get the predictable outcome where Fujitsu is just going to blame the Post Office for not doing their own investigations and the Post Office is going to blame Fujitsu for the glitches.
Sigh. Corporate blame passing at its finest.
EVERYTHING wrong and failing about the UK in a nutshell.
The post office issues go back 20 years… a better article would have been the profits during those years.
The daily mail for the left strikes again
The company I work for has just taken an IT contract with them to upgrade our ERP system. They have been paid an absolute fortune for this. I already had concerns about their performance then I found out they are responsible for this mess.
£22m profits sounds absolutely tiny for a firm as large as fujitsu with the big public sector contracts they have. What kind of weird accounting is happening there??
