This issue really boils my piss because the water companies were given millions of pounds to reduce sewage contamination, and instead it has risen to record highs. They have even admitted as much, with spokespersons for the water companies apologising. The kicker is that now they say bills will have to increase to make the changes needed. How is nobody in prison for this? It’s all in the open, fault has been admitted, our rivers and oceans are full of shit, millions of pounds have seemingly been spaffed away on sweet fuck all, bills going up during cost of living crisis so that the people who originally stole the money can do what, steal more money and keep pumping metric tonnes of shite into our water?
Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I want these people to be made to swim in sewage on live TV. Realistically that’s the only thing that might make me feel better about it, at least in the short-term. Somebody should be held accountable ffs
There used to be a time where you had river boards that would dredge rivers, streams, drainage ditches etc. Then it got absorbed into the Environment Agency and they barely seem to bother now.
I like rurally and the drainage ditches around here haven’t been done in years and are completely overgrown with reeds and thus it drains slower. It used to be an annual thing.
But we know what the gove-rnment thinks of experts.
From all the shit that conservatives talk? Not surprising in the slightest.
Its what happens when your privatise water. Shareholders profits and bonuses come first regardless…
And flooding,they have not dredged any rivers for about 10 years now.
Another Tory failure in a country filled with Tory failures that’ll cost billions to fix. What annoys me most is some people will actually believe they’re credible to vote for.
Far right, centre right or right wing all Tories are the same completely devoid of any love for their country.
