Ironically the United States is the only nato country that ever has invoked article 5. And Europe was there for them.
Here is a simple advice.
The more weapons (preferably modern and long-range) the Ukrainian army is provided with, the more Russian soldiers who may attack the European Union in years to come will die. The more tanks that will be on their way to Riga or Suwalki will be destroyed. The more airplanes that will bomb Helsinki and Warsaw in the future will be shot down. I can go on for a long time, but I think my point is clear to you.

He’s 100% correct – why should Europe freeload on the US military? Why get full membership benefits of a club that you aren’t paying for?

And I say this as a European citizen of a non NATO country.
