  1. Sad to see the pointless chaos from such a misguided decision.

  2. and it’s not like the expats didn’t vote to remain. that’s gotta suck some hairy balls.

  3. Sad, maybe not in the EU anymore, but still, we share a huge amount of history, and some people haven’t forgotten that Europe would be very different today without their courage and resilience.

  4. I guess these people failed to complete the correct forms.

In Britain we gave every eu national living here the right to stay if they applied, not all of them did and I assume most of the ones who failed to do so had already left Britain

  5. What’s the problem? I’d also be asked to leave Britain as a foreigner after I’ve overstayed my welcome. If I could get in even…

  6. they are just people like us, who come here hoping for a better life…

  7. Now do the others, lol. That’d be way more urgent.

  8. Reading the article, these are not people who are living in the EU being arbitrarily kicked out, but people who are failing standard non-EU visa and residency requirements.

  9. Just 470 British citizens were returned to the UK or another country between January and September last year.

  10. It’s not surprising. I remember standing in a queue to enter the UK alongside a family of brits in 2017. They were telling their kids “we need to show our passports now because we’ve left the EU”.

I have also met quite some brits in EU countries who didn’t seem to have any idea how the VISA system worked or what was expected of them.

It’s a shame because most likely the ones being kicked out are people who voted to stay in the EU and retain their rights to travel, work and live freely like the rest of us.

UK, I’ve left a light on for you.

  11. It is always surprising the wording coming from specific articles: “Order to leave”.

  12. I would like to see the UK come back to the EU if they are open to starting the negotiations again. I think the current situation serves neither the UK or Europe well.

Better with each other. I’m saying that as an Irishman!

I spoke to many people from the UK recently on holidays and there seems to be collective regret and a feeling they they were misled/hoodwinked by the Tories.

  13. Someone posts about difficulty staying in UK and a bunch of people are all sweetness and slating immigration policy. Someone posts an article about difficulty staying in Europe and the same people don’t bat an eyelid. Amusing.

  14. I know of a couple of illegals in Spain. They missed the deadline due to being incompetent and now can’t leave because they’d never get back in.

    Silly buggers.

  15. about time have they got no homes of their own

  16. Fucking copium. They are failing their visa checks to stay in the EU countries. Not “order to leave by BIG EUROPE!!!!”
