Moscow, Russia – Residents of elite Moscow residential complexes began to massively complain about floods due to broken communications. 1. Source title isn’t great but there are lots of regions of Russia experiencing cold temperatures this week and some centralized hot water heating plants have failed (common way to heat buildings in the 1950s, they would heat water centrally and pump it to nearby buildings for radiators). As the building temperatures drop the water pipes and radiators burst causing extensive damage. Residents have also turned on electrical appliance to try and heat their apartments, overloading the grid and in some cases burning wires off electrical poles. The problem appears to be quite large and involving many different buildings and regions. Largely a result of old infrastructure and pumping infrastrucure money into a war.
