Hey beautiful people, my sister was working in this local cafe. Long story short: the boss was an ass and constantly try to screw her over working hours etc. They made a work contract with trial period of 4 months, but she quit due to stress and uncertainty in the first month. She still have not received her salary, which according to the contract was supposed to be paid from 5th – 7th of the month.
We were browsing [tyosuojelu.fi](https://tyosuojelu.fi) and the instructions there say that first she tries to resolve the matter with him. First she received a payslip with less than what she is supposed to earn, and after being in a dispute with him, he’s claiming that she worked for less hours than what she reported.
7th went by and no salary received.
The second step according to tyosuojelu website is to send a demand letter (the form Palkkasaatavailmoitus_EN_tyosuhde_paattynyt.doc), which also says that she’s entitled to interest for every passing day the salary is delayed. I have tried to find how is this exactly calculated but I cannot find any examples. Furthermore, it is not clear to me if this demand letter should be sent to the employer or to Uudenmaan Työsuojelupiiri.
Has any of you guys had experience with these things, or any tips to offer?
Thank you!

She should send the demand to the employer and keep a copy for proof. If the employer still does not pay, she should contact her union (if she belongs to one), local ’oikeusaputoimisto’ or a private lawyer.
Google “Odotusajan palkka”. I think she should get 6 days salary for having to wait. + some interest, which I didn’t find. I guess it’s like 7%(yearly) so pennies at this point.
She should tell the former employer that there will be consuquences if they don’t pay. (Union, lawyer)
