  1. Gove needs to cover his basis. Request Michael Sheen to play him in the itv adaptation and he will be alright.

  2.      Recently *Private Eye*’s extremely dogged work on the Post Office ‘Horizon’ scandal finally seems to be paying off. If the same could now happen for *Private Eye*’s exposure of the Teeside freeport corruption, then there’d be some kind of justice.

  3. Asking Gove if best value for taxpayers had been secured, he said: “A company that has bought 110 acres for £1 an acre is now turning over £143m and shovelling £50m out to private shareholders in profits.”

The levelling up secretary said he could not “pre-empt” the outcome of the review, but argued he had full confidence in Houchen

    Three quick 2024 predictions:

    a) The inquiry into tory PPE won’t take place until after the next election

    b) The police inquiry into Mone/ Barrowman will not conclude before the election. Then it will be promptly dropped – as will all charges against them

    c) The Teeside freeport scandal ‘review’ will not take place this side of the General Election

All three of these investigations are potentially highly damaging to tory election prospects. And all of these investigations allow the tories to avoid being questioned on each of the topics prior to the next election.

All very clever. And all very fucking devious.

  4. Let’s also not forget that this motherfucker did all of this on the sneaky sneaky:

‘Michael Gove was secretly involved in the process through which a PPE company linked to the Tory peer Michelle Mone secured huge government contracts, according to newly released documents that show private emails being used for government business.’

Why isn’t he in jail for breach of care of critical government documents?
