I’m all for nuclear energy. But no fucking way i would trust some 100% private companies to build and make it safe. There’s just no way when profit is these companies’s main goal.

Cancel Labour’s nuclear power scheme when they get into power
Blame Labour for there not being enough nuclear power generation while claiming that they themselves are “committed” to increasing the provision of nuclear power
Destroy the economy
Then announce plans for spending huge amounts of money that Labour will be on the hook for because the Tories are going to be getting their marching orders soon enough.

Edit: Probably 50 years too late by the time some are built, if it happens at all.
Our ageing nuclear power stations have 5 years left if we’re lucky. It takes a decade at least to build one. Fuck the Tories.
I’m sure whatever government is in power won’t scupper or water down the expansion so we can keep importing electricity to line their pockets.
It will probably want to be a lot more expansive than they can imagine if they think everyone will be driving electric cars.
Standard bs , after election they’ll scrap this idea.
