Kill or casualty?
A kill ratio of 7:1 in Ukraine’s favor is typical of the war, due in part to Ukraine’s comparatively high level of combat medical response.
In fact 7:1 may even be a bit on the low side for situations in which Ukraine is deployed defensively. That would be a bit worrisome.
A 7:1 casualty ratio however, meaning killed plus wounded, would be another matter altogether. That would imply a kill ratio of close to 20:1, which is getting into late Korean War levels, at the point right before the People’s Liberation Army pulled the plug on the whole thing.
If consistently repeatable, it would mean that Russia’s attempts in Kharkiv were well and truly over.
I just want every person to take a moment and realize when headlines like this come out it still means that every day we see 700+ numbers that 100+ Ukrainians are dying.
