Hey! I’m in the process of relocating from Estonia to Berlin in the coming couple of months. I’ve looked up online on the process to register my car in Berlin, but there are some specifics that weren’t covered much online.
1. My ownership certificate is in Estonian language (sorry, I know that was obvious). Where should I legally translate it into German for the Kfz-Zulassungsbehörde

2. I found a few services online that provide COC certificates as I unfortunately don’t have mine, and dealership would cost me an arm and a leg to issue one. Are those accepted? (Example: https://www.eurococ.eu/)

3. Where can I online insure the car? As most of the insurers need German license plates numbers to even calculate the policy price, or well, I might be looking at the wrong place!

4. While Googling, one of the requirements came up was “Certification from the German Federal Motor Vehicle Registry indicating the vehicle has not been registered in Germany before”
Is this a prerequisite, as I didn’t find much info on where to get that on, or will be issued when I head over to Kfz with the docs?

5. Do you recommend any agency that will do this whole job for me for a fee?

Thanks guys.

  1. You definitely need the COC (“EG-Übereinstimmungsbescheinigung”) alternatively you can get a so called “Vollgutachten” from one of the certified testing organizations like TÜV, KÜS, GTÜ, DEKRA etc. The latter one will not be cheaper though.

However my advise, get the CoC directly from the car maker – don’t use some random website.
What kind of car are we speaking of?
