Morning in Marsaskala

  1. My Maltese grandparents lived on Dolmen street, not far from here. We would visit from the UK every summer when I was a boy. Once I went exploring down to the flats, balancing across the pan dividers. I found a matchbox full of matches and as I moved on, a weathered fisherman type yelled at me, scared me. I ran off with the matches. He was probably harvesting salt and the matches were probably his. Late 70s. I now offer an apology. Thanks for sharing, stirring up that memory.

  2. Used to go up on the abandoned jerma hotel everyday. such a great view from the roof but I advise anyone to take it seriously the wind can be intimidating and there are very loose bricks/stone whatever.
