2. Frozen pipes burst. I do not know if this is one of the mains that has been cold for several days and therefore frozen and cracked but if it is one way to find the leaks is to run hot water down the system. Not saying its a good way to find the leaks with temps in the -10 to -25 range as per the forecasts I have seen but it does work. Makes fixing them almost impossible though but that seems to be the way Russia operates almost everything they do.

   I fully expect at some point they are going to have to give up until the weather warms and evacuate a bunch of people from some of these communities. The anger is growing at the government.

3. Man, that city is going to be an ice rink by morning. A major disruption.
