Emissions of cats and dogs raised as issue at council meeting

  1. There is a valid point in there that keeping pets should be more environmentally friendly, poop bags should be biodegradable and cat litter should as well for example.
Reading between the lines though I feel like some members of this council just don’t like pets.

  2. This makes me mad.

Yeah let’s not focus on the actual emitters like ExxonMobil, BP, Shell blah blah blah and go after people’s pets.

I should have 2.4 kids. I don’t. I have dog that’s smaller than a cat and eats insect protein.

    Leave me alone.

  3. Assess the burning of fossil fuels you fucking clowns, people who want to create policies that will have microscopic effects on the climate yet significantly effect people personally really annoy me. If all this time and effort spent on tiny things to appear as if they are doing something was spent on solutions to stopping the burning of fossil fuels we might get somewhere.

  4. Countries like China and India which emit by far the most amount of carbon, several times compared to Western countries, but get angry about British pets 😂

  5. Let’s ignore the emissions from industry, fossil fuels, plastics, etc.

No, it’s my cat farting that we have to look at stopping!

  6. Pets have a carbon footprint, and are way less necessary to most people than cars, but I expect this thread to be full of people complaining that their pets should be left alone.

  7. I’ll go out on a limb here and say he’s right that pets should be included in the breakdown of emissions produced by households. The human food usually is. I think the pet food is more significant than the pets farting as implied.
