  1. Title is slightly wrong, “World added 50% more renewable capacity in 2023 than in 2022”; rate of installations grew by 50% in 2023, but total installations didn’t grow by 50%.

    Still though. Installation rates are growing very nicely. Necessary average installation rate from now until 2035 to hit near net-zero electricity emissions is something like 1.5 TW/year, so we’ve gotten up to 1/3 of that. At 50% annual increase in installation rates, we’ll be there by 2026.
