    They knew there was no explosive in the rounds because they’re the ones who sold it on the black market.

  35. That’s Russian roulette with mortar rounds. I kinda feel sorry for these guys. I mean they have to work knowing that one of these rounds gonna blow them up eventually. And they get killed much sooner than by enemy counter fire. Btw. if the crew gets blown up by their own mortar, does that count as friendly fire?

  39. I’m no mortar man but I don’t think you’re supposed to throw the shells down the tube like that. Probably not causing the malfunction just remembering what I saw in a training video years ago

  41. I am making an assumption here that these are North Korea supplied rounds. While the one that did fire may have hit something these rounds are more benefit to Ukraine than Russia.

    Russia has spent money on these.

    They took up shipping space and resources on trains, ships and trucks to move them from NK to Ukraine.

    Men had to hump this to the firing position set up thier mortar and expose themselves to drones and return artillery only to do very limited if any damage.

    Of the one that did leave the mortar did it go bang when it arrived at its target. If the fuse and explosive are of similar quality maybe it will just be a piece of EOD buried in the ground for generations and does no immediate damage.

    Looks like NK is helping Ukraine more than Russia

    the round is active once it’s hit the base right? is there no other way to get a live round out of a mortar other then tilting it and hoping it get’s caught?
    also putting your face over the barrel with an round in it. would that fly in any decent army

  43. Spending way too much time in front of that barrel after dropping the round. Our 120mm mortars you instantly drop down with both hands clear the entire sequence because it’s firing almost immediately. This entire video is cringe.

  45. You know this had been going on for awhile before they filmed it with how many fucking times that idiot felt comfortable putting his face in front of the fucking mortar tube
