Wasn’t Dwayne Johnson the one who wanted to do the live-action

I think it’s thoughtful of her to give another Pacific Islander a very visible role like this one. I’m sure that’s her first thought, but I would be lying if the cynical part of me also didn’t think she knows there’s a decent chance this movie might go over like a fart in church.
I would encourage anyone who’s about to respond to the title with a breast-focused joke to read the article first.
The sentiment that she’s expressing is both thoughtful and well-stated.
After the Dear Evan Hansen trash fire, probably for the best. No point clinging to a role you’re no longer suitable for, she has her career now and she’ll be a Disney legend forever.
I mean it took her forever to be seen as more than the moana girl. Producing it is smart but she has aged out of the role and her career has moved on. It makes sense.
Her whole chest?
This is the right way to do representation. Take some of the plentiful stories and myths from different cultures and involve people from those cultures in bringing it to life.
“Representation” through just changing some random character’s skin tone in a story that’s already been done to death is lazy at best and intellectually insulting at worst.
