  1. I wonder if the Americans have asked us to handle this because of the election over there and all that.

  2. Excellent. About time these fuckers got what’s coming to em

  3. I hope other nations whose ships or trade has been affected will join in and not just whinge on the sidelines about the poor Houthis.

  4. The Houthi rebels control the capital city, most of the country and also the army of Yemen.
Calling them rebels may be being economic with the facts.

  5. The fact the house of commons leader and opposition figures are to be briefed sounds like strikes have already happened.

  6. Refugee sweepstake anyone?

NGOs will be licking their lips at this already

  7. Don’t worry, lads. Humza Yousaf will get the US and UK establishments well and truly telt.

  8. What exactly do they intend to strike, the white vans driving around Yemen releasing Iranian drones (with attached explosives) from their back doors?

  9. Can’t wait for idiots to cry about this accusing us of carpet bombing like they did with Syria

  10. Britain armed and guided a Saudi-led air campaign on Yemen’s Houthis for years. This not only largely caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis (per the UN, said until 2022), it actually failed to defeat the Houthis and saw them expand their control over Yemen

They’re a combo of a nation-state and militia faction suited to irregular warfare, so airstrikes won’t alone halt the group without prolonged war.

The Houthis have been able to attack shipping – linked primarily to Israel – because of the war on Gaza which UK has backed under US pressure – as is occuring over Yemen now. Important to bear this in mind before blindly supporting this.

  11. Why did they tell them, talk about telegraphing your punches

  12. With the cuts to our military I’m surprised we can actually fight back. But in any case good stuff. They deserve it from what I’ve read.

  13. That’s a really good idea which will work! No one has tried it before after all

  14. Just a few bombs and we shall achieve peace in the Middle East!

  15. Some idiots get told by their overlords to have a pop at shipping, then some poor goat farmer gets a 500lb JDAM through his roof because they fired a missile from his back yard. Turns out he’s looking after 430 relatives that weekend and its splashed all over the worlds media as bits of small children are carted out of the wreckage, NATO loses more support in the ME and Iran and by extension Russia get exactly more, rinse and repeat.

  16. Yet more foreign war mongering. We can’t afford to feed everyone, or house then. We’re constantly told there isn’t enough money to go around. But when the world police want a stooge the PM will always come scurrying to their side.

  17. Western and US global dominance is backed on being able to secure free trade via oceans. To US/UK Governments, this is actually quite threatening, the Somali pirates were dealt with and were a much less organised and powerful group.

  18. A futile exercise which will no doubt cause even greater destablisation in the region.

  19. And yet we cut our defence budget and like to have “ cost saving measures” and cut everything about our armed forces

  20. Unsurprising, attacks only global trade which seem solely designed to frustrate and drive up costs were always going to incur a reaction like this.

This was just part of an Iran funded campaign and has backfired.

  21. Great, another war, another conflict. We never learn, all this to save some shipping company a few euros.

  22. I despise the warmongers in charge of this country. Stop supporting genocide.

  23. People on here are embarrassing, the fact you’d rather side with the Saudis and kill civilians is just laughably stupid. Saudi Arabia is 100x worse than anything Yemen could ever dream of being and they’re our allies…

  24. It’s not like the Saudi’s or anyone else are lifting much of a finger to sort the mess out in their own backyard. All this talk about wanting to be a relevant player on the global market and now globally important shipping lanes through their neighbouring country are being threatened it’s up to US/UK and whoever doesn’t pussy out from the EU to sort it.

So many of the people commenting here just don’t get it. This isn’t a simple humanitarian issue otherwise everyone would be saying stop the bombs and drones…

If every boat out of China/India has to go round Africa we should be concerned about the cost of goods coming in, increasing inflation again, increased length of time before interest rates come down, food shortages, energy shortages, and the impact on import/export business and employment at home.

Also has everyone forgot the part where Iran/Russia are working together to destabilise the West? Ukraine, Israel, Red Sea. These are all targeted attacks to draw us in the long and expensive wars, to make us criticise each other, our governments and to weaken the links between nations.

  25. Is the British army now just a slave army for the Zionists? They pay our politicians to ensure young Brits murder and potentially die for their own Zionist country and beliefs. Letting them have total power across our government will only end in more failures across the board for the working class Brit

  26. If there’s one thing Yemen needs, it’s more bombing.

  27. Israel is leading the US and UK into yet another war. The US has wanted to invade Iran for decades.

  28. America, fuck yeah!

Comin’ again to save the motherfuckin’ day, yeah

    America, fuck Yeah!

Freedom is the only way, yeah

    Terrorists, your game is through

‘Cause now you have ta answer to

    America, fuck yeah!

So lick my butt and suck on my balls

    America, fuck yeah!

Whatcha’ gonna do when we come for you now

It’s the dream that we all share

    It’s the hope for tomorrow

    (Fuck Yeah!)
