It feels like we are getting close to the point where this can be treated in the same way as flu – if you have symptoms stay home
The app notified me on the 7th that I’d been in close contact with someone on the 31st of December who tested positive. It said I didn’t have to isolate so long as I test negative daily for 7 days after first contact.
That was day 7. I did one test. The notification disappeared the next day.
yeah it would be helpful if covid would just fuck off but we dont get to decide that
Are we just gonna fucking pretend it’s finished?
We’re right in the middle of this what are going to do if we need to respond to another strain after we’ve already ruined all public motivation towards saving lives?
Yes i know there’s a balance to be struck but we’ve consistently just said fuck it and picked the worst options over and over again
Lockdowns? How about 2 weeks later “, with no actual restrictions and for 2 weeks longer
Teaching? You get the point…
I’m fine with reducing it, if there’s reasoning behind it (e.g. after 5 days, you are so much less infectious you’d have to spit in someone’s mouth to pass it on). But the US was pretty open that the reason they reduced it was cos they wanted to get people back to work ASAP, and that isn’t good enough to me.
Their is going to be Tories saying all sorts of stuff today to try and distract from the headlines about U.K. hitting 150,000 deaths
Pretend it away again, has been Tory policy for a year now.
Notice how not a single article of actual science is suggesting to be even close to this relaxed. Its the Secretary of Education, the DWP or the Treasury. Accounts here are craving this as an endemic and live with it situation.
