Some old post soviet block countries have same problem old brainwashed boomers are making life more miserable for young people by voting prorussian mafia politics that steal everything. It seems like whole old generation is out of their mind.
Almost half don’t want to so more than half do. Still damn scary, must be something in the water there that turns people into idiots.
“Almost half” of Russia’s smallest demographic doesn’t want to vote for Putin? I don’t think that is super positive.
To successfully overthrow a dictator you need the vast majority of young people in that demographic to detest the regime(I’m talking about 10-20% support) and also likely in the 30-50 demographic as well. Otherwise the security forces have no reason to side against the leadership.
No wonder he has been in power for 24 years lol.
“It’s not the people who vote who count, it’s the people who count the votes” – Joseph Stalin, one of Putin’s idols.
Doesn’t really matter when the decision has already been made.
Wait but is there reasonable opposition? Arent people who could replace Putin even more deranged and dangerous?
Who would, the guys crazy!
This is meant to be a positive thing?
Lmao this is some Fox News way of saying that the majority do want to vote him. Stop sugar coating it. Most Russian will vote for the guy
Good thing those people will die in a “special operation” then
Sending a certain age demographic to fight a dumb war for you makes you unpopular in that age demographic, more news at 5
Almost half of Russian youth better not go anywhere near windows or cups of tea.
Good thing for Putin that nobody is asking for their votes 😉
They don’t want to be responsible for the crimes their government committed.
But they are responsible already. And will have their punishment.
The young russians that were cheering the wagners during the (pathetic) mutiny would have vote for prigozhin.
guess they don’t like the odds of being send to the meatgrinder
Russian bots are in shambles! Hide this post fast!
**Even more Russians do not support dictator Putin. But when surveyed, the majority are afraid to tell the truth**
Even if this was true, Russia is a country ruled by the older generations as they outnumber the young at the ballot box.
It’s the same in Europe and in the US to some regard but except for voting for higher pensions and lower taxes for themselves at the expense of the younger generation, Russian elderly are willing to send their young to war.
From the multitudes of online Russian users I see weekly and the Russians who are under 30 I know this isn’t accurate.
Unless it is going to the front, then they obediently do as they are told. I do not believe this article to be factual, but propaganda.
Not surprising, BUT that age group is
1. Smaller than older ones, as the demographic decline is a thing there and the numbers were more or less sustained previously only by the migrants, who were mostly from post-soviet countries in Asia.
2. Sent to death in Ukraine. So, the number will be even smaller.
3. Migrated or in process of preparing the resources, like money or education for migration. Brain-drain was a huge issue there even before and guess what? The prospects of doing it got only better in comparison, despite restrictions, which brings the final point.
4. Has mostly given up on their state or politics in the country.
So, overall, I just hope that more people do not mind the migrants and therefore let the educated youth migrate faster to weaken Russian economy and bolstering EU’s and watch Russia deal with ageing demographical issues and labour shortages.
Edit: about the demographic decline, there probably is some data showing the exact picture, but if I remember correctly, the echo from WW2 decline is also quite prevalent still, which only further complicates the already dire state.
50%+ is still an insane number
Voting or not, he is going to win no matter what.
I wonder how come that those that may end up at the Ukraine front (unless they from Moscow or St. Petersburg) do not like the guy that sends them to the Ukraine front.
Too bad the votes don’t matter. It’s not an election and he is not a president. It’s a regime and he’s a dictator. It baffles me how media continue to call him “president”, when it’s beyond obvious he isn’t one.
I am Russian, from my circle of friends no one is going to vote for him. But guess who’s going to win
Unfortunately, this is their ballot.
☐ Putin
☐ Putin
☐ Putin
☐ Other (to be counted for Putin)
Vote or not they’ll end up mobilized and fertilizing Ukrainian soil.
Too much of the dead weight of the older generations. It’s not their decision to do anything, dragged down by the dying generations grasping for the straws of the past “victories” resulted in the ultimate collapse of their own state in 80-90s, the situation is about to repeat itself on much worse scale.
Doesn’t matter as he will win with 80% anyway..
“Almost half don’t want to vote for him” is just another way of saying “a majority do want to vote for him.” As the article states:
> Only 53% of citizens of this age are ready to vote for the current head of state, who is planning to run for a fifth term; 47% would prefer another candidate.
So, a majority of those under 30 **do** want to vote for him. In what world does having a majority of support equal “not have much support”?
Putin’s a cunt, but plenty of Russians seem ready to keep him around.
Is this supposed to be good news?
“Almost half”, so less than half. Less than half of young people, and much less than half of other people.
Sounds bad.
Hard to say what should happen for zombies to realize that they are living like a third world country while having the biggest amount of natural resources of any countries in the world. They will probably blame evil west anyway.
A guy who is in charge 20+ years definitely couldn’t make their lives better. But starting a war is definitely gonna make their lives better.
How about fuck Putin
Yeah no shit. Young people in Russia use Telegram and get to see how Putins glorious SMO really looks like on the frontlines. Can only imagine how they must feel watching “their guys” bleed out, get blown to pieces, or shoot themselves in desperation.
As far as I can tell, no matter which country you are, young people are less like to vote than their elders, even though they are largely going to more affected.
Anyway. In Russia, do they even get a choice?
So thats why he’s killing so many of them.
LOL as if voting in Russia counts anything.
“Almost half”. Hm. So maybe it is not just Putin. Maybe he is just a very good representation of russian people?
Well he’s doing a good job of getting a lot of them killed.
Seeing how they counted votes in ukraine, it doesnt matter at all.
Doesn’t really matter when the security services rig the elections.
Well if the title is correct it means that more than half of russian youth want to vote for him
Ofc we don’t want him. We want democracy to our country, not authority
This headline is depressing if you think about it, even in the age group where lives are thrown away in war, more than half want to keep going.
