These day insurance policies are very handy for borrowing a friend’s car.

The two big ones I know of – dayinsure.com and veygo.com – will not sell you a policy unless you have a GB licence.

I assume that’s because our 90s throwback DVA NI licences don’t work with this:

Is there any insurer who does offer day insurance with an NI-issued licence? So far it looks like another case of *Excludes Northern Ireland

  2. Check that you don’t already have a third party extension on your insurance if I’m fully comp and my friend is fully comp we can drive each other’s car afaik
