he PSNI are continuing to investigate 21 unsolved murders following shootings in Belfast since 2013.

While a number of the shootings are suspected to be linked to both dissident republican and loyalist paramilitaries, an increasing number are suspected to have links to criminal and drug gangs.

More than half of those gunned down have been in West Belfast where the murder of Kevin Conway in The Greenan area of Andersonstown brought the figure shot dead in that area to 12.

Six men have been shot dead in North Belfast in that period while two have been killed in South Belfast and one in East Belfast.

“They are pre-planned and we always start on the back foot,” she said. “I believe that the answers to this murder lie with people within the community who know what happened and who may not have the confidence to come forward.

“I am asking those people to stop, think about it and have the confidence to lift the phone and have a conversation with us and if they don’t feel that they can do that then to contact CrimeStoppers anonymously.”

  2. This sub is either in one of two directions, either everyone hates the PSNI or redditors are fighting over who can lick boots better. There is no balance from one post to the next.

  3. The PSNI cannot even protect the data on their own officers, its only a matter of time now until they “accidentally” leak their intelligence on informants so who in their right mind would provide them with any information, regardless of it being the right thing or not.
