Absolutely. It’s might be a tad stale, but I’d still devour it.
yes.
Recent Best Before, not a definite date.
No mould? Edible.
When they go off, they grow quality fur, all that fruit and sugar.
Malt loaf with cheese? I wouldn’t risk that.
Malt Loaf?
I would do anything for lunch, but I won’t do that.
Best before.
Best before, not too bad after
Go for it, then give us an update next week hopefully.
It’s only a few days over. Best before dates are only a guideline, not a rule. I ate a few bags of crisps that were a year over the other day, and they were absolutely fine. Malt loaf lasts forever, as well. It will be edible weeks after the BBF date, as long as there’s no mould.
That’s the best before date, not a use by date. Believe it or not most packaged goods are typically safe for a year past the best before date.
Malt loaf is fine. It’s the cheese that worries me more.
Am more intrigued by the cheese part of this convo, dear god please tell me they are not being combined.
It’s a best before date. It will be absolutely fine.
The malt loaf doesnt know the date. Sniff it check for mould and enjoy your snack
Risk?
I ate a yogurt last week that went off in november and it was fine. You’ll b’reet.
If it looks alright, smells alright and tastes alright… It’s alright!
Read an interesting book recently about tasting beer, but essentially, your taste buds are a primitive warning sign as too whether food is edible..
Målt loaf sliced and spread with cream cheese, a nice bone china cup of Earl Grey, no milk no sugar.
Go for it
Fun fact from Gregg shouty Wallace I learned.
The Sorreen loaves leave the factory half cooked. They continue cooking in the packets, but are fully “baked”, as it were, by the time they get to the shops.
So use your nose and eyes. If it’s ok then crack on.
Why do people not understand this?
You’ve “sliced the cheese”?! For malt loaf?!? This must be a joke.
Are you toasting it or having it raw?
There’s so much sugar in it, it can’t go off.
It might go softer over time (enzymes added to do this in this type of product) but it’s got so much water binding stuff it’s probs safe.
says best before not use by so go for it
Up to midnight on the 9th it would have been OK. But now you’re risking your life
Absolutely.
Cheese? I’ve never heard of cheese with malt loaf.
Read the small print. It will kill you out right. It’s good PR for the company. They like their customers to die happy.
It took way to long to scroll to find a comment questioning the cheese. Makes me think this is a thing? I mean I know food is food but is this a legitimate well known combo? Am I out of touch?
You’ve sliced the cheese… what do you mean? Are you really putting cheese on malt loaf!??!?
I wouldn’t risk malt loaf even when it’s in date.
It can hardly get any worse, can it?
This will be fine. Toast a slice!
Also … malt loaf with cheese … and marmite
Meh it’s only out by a couple of days.
Edit: holy *fuck*
I’ve never known someone to eat it with cheese, but slap a shit ton of butter on it Id be game.

It’s malt loaf. That thing would withstand the heat death of the sun. I had one a few years back that was about 3 months out of date, popped it open and it was super moist and lovely. No mould, no rot.
Never heard of anyone dying of malt loaf poisoning 🤔🤷🏻
Toasted is next level, just in case it’s a bit stale.
Yes definitely, as I just ate one that went out of date in November!
Cheese! I’m trying that, my friend.
i always thought of malt loaves as the type of food that could survive nuclear war so yes i would probably even eat one a few months out of date if i was desperately hungry and the packet didn’t look destroyed
I actually really like malt loaf. Am I in the minority?
