‘I’m rebelling. There’s no way I can subscribe to this’ As the First Minister announces Scotland will ‘replicate’ the ban on XL bully dogs planned for England and Wales, long-standing SNP MSP Christine Grahame says the Scottish government has been ‘bullied’ into the decision.

  1. On what grounds? You’d have to be nuts to disagree with the ban

  2. First they came for the XL Bullies,

And I did not speak out.

Because I did not have a XL Bully.

Then they came for the Pitbulls,

    And I said,

“Are you sure you’ve got all the XL Bullies?”

  3. Nuts. People are being torn to shreds by these dogs. A ban is totally justified.

  4. Ah yes, that situation where a government is “bullied” into a decision by overwhelming public opinion…………. what’s the word for that again…?

  5. Why do people think these dogs are being banned? Do you realise there are **thousands** kept entirely legally in England and Wales since the new year? The next dangerous dog wanted by Louts and breeders will be around soon enough.

  6. I had forgotten about Russ Abbot’s Scottish character

  7. You’ve got to give then a pinch of credit when they make the right decision in the end. But why they hell wasn’t this done two months ago when we could have avoided the drama and the spectacle of large numbers of dangerous dogs being brought up to this country? There’s far too much policy making without proper forethought in SG, and far too much of a tendency to reflexively kick against whatever England is doing just to feel different.

  8. The SNP have completely lost the plot since Sturgeon left – they’ve been “bullied” into nothing; what’s actually happened is the incompetent Yousaf has made the decision to ban the dogs two months two late.
