My Belgian redditors, I have a car related question for you. I am planning to put a spoiler/wing on my Honda Civic FN2. My friend who drives a tiny fiat 500 was fined and asked to go to court because he put a small metal spoiler on top, the reason the cop gave is that it might “slice” a person up if that person gets hit by the car and flies over the vehicle. Now I can kinda get behind that reasoning it’s a metal spoiler. But I’m aiming for a plastic one like in the image. Can anyone with experience of installing spoilers on cars in Belgium, tell me what is allowed (without additional paperwork or annoying procedures) or is allowed but after some kinda paperwork or inspection procedures, then what kind and the success rate, costs, etc, or what is absolutely not allowed. I will use the car on tracks but the spoiler also kinda adds on to the car’s aesthetics and I’d love to have one on my car. Any help is highly appreciated!!

* monteren van spoiler – voorwaarden:
— materialen met een hoge absorptiegraad (polyester, plastiek, ABS, e.a.)
— niet boven hoogste punt van dak (kofferspoilers).
— niet vastgelast aan de dragende structuren (dak- en raamspoilers).
— maximum 5 cm uitsteken voor bumper (voorspoilers).
