They aren’t if comedy requires you to punch down and, frankly, a lot of males are discovering they don’t know how to be funny if they’re not punching down.
Now they feel aggrieved because they grew up curating the industry to fit their “*talent.*” Well, I’m reminded of a tweet… A bunch of men got together and told us what was funny. And it just so happened what was funny was them.
I’m sorry but what “joke” can you no longer say?
This is a joke from Kevin’s comedy special:
>There was a point in time when we were in (Disneyland) where I lost my daughter….But I knew eventually I would run into her again, so I took that time to get on rides she couldn’t get on….When I saw her she was crying….I was like, ‘It’s not your birthday. Today’s not about you.
Here’s another:
> Lying ruined my fucking marriage. That’s a lie. I cheated.
Clearly Kevin is capable of writing jokes that aren’t at the expense of any group as a whole, punch down for no particular reason or would really “offend.” So what jokes do you need to say that you can’t?
Seems to me all of these comedians now who get offended and scream censorship are either responding to a change in audience sensibilities or don’t want to admit that they aren’t actually funny anymore.
It’s like a comic in the 80s whose entire routine was about women drivers suddenly not being laughed at because it’s a dumb stereotype lashing out and blaming the audience for not getting it and killing comedy.
Or if you go to a restaurant and get served a shitty hamburger you don’t accept the chef saying “restaurants aren’t food friendly anymore.”
Actually I didn’t know he hosted the Oscars.
I thought he almost did.
I am exhausted with Kevin Hart. You are loud and short.. we get it, man. We get it.
Isn’t Will Smith banned?
A man did get slapped at one.
Is this about the guy who bombed on stage last week?
Cause where was the comedy? 🤔
It’s just that it’s hard to hear your jokes from way down there, Kevin.
His beard in thar image looks weird specifically the chin area
I mean he’s not funny, he shouldn’t be worried about it
Comedians have the worst victim complex I have ever seen. If you can’t make it work in the modern age, retire to your millions and your family. We’ll find someone to take your place.
In Jo Koy’s instance, I think the caveat is that you have to actually be funny
Comedians…the most oppressed race after G*mers.
I also won’t be hosting the Oscars.
To be fair I have a lot of respect for Kevin Hart. He is a huge movie star and really successful all while having virtually no talent or range whatsoever. He plays the *exact same* person in every single thing he’s ever been in.
You can’t be a comedian and still care about what people think. Kevin you are a puss.
He’s right. No idea why comedians would subject themselves to this. None of these shows support the category by giving out an award for best comedy show or movie. No comedy writing category. At best they group it in a “variety” category. And the Hollywood crowd takes itself too seriously on these nights. They don’t want jokes made about them and are too up their asses about winning/losing an award to loosen up and have a good time.
A lot of celebs there got sticks up their ass and don’t want to be made fun of (looking at you Taylor Swift)
So Katt Williams was right ? Industry plant “industry comic” /s
