Aircraft collided on Runway C of haneda airport with a Coastal Guard aircraft there were 376 379 people on board 367 passengers and 12 crew have now all been safely evacuated from the plane but on the Coastal Guard aircraft the captain had managed to escape but the remaining five crew on

Board uh have passed away this has been confirmed and I’ve just received the report to back this up the re root cause of this accident is not known yet but we will be looking to work with Japan transport safety board and the relevant agencies associated with the police

Department uh we will be looking into some of the information gathering in detail and we will be making the utmost effort as the ma uh Ministry of land infrastructure and transport to uh work out and analyze the root cause of this accident the operation of haneda airport is as

Follows first uh we want to secure the accident area But of course we are trying to work so that other aircraft can operate back to normal uh timetable so we are trying to secure the disaster area plus trying to reopen the remainder of the airport to restart operations these two points are what I reported to the prime

Back to normal timetable for the HED airports operations so for us as the ministry we will be looking to work out the root cause of that accident afterwards there will be a a press conference uh from the administrative side to report on the details of the

Coastal aircraft which was going to be used for the transport of goods is there any impact on the rescue efforts because of the accident of course this aircraft is on fire but of course we can’t use this aircraft there will be some impact to the human um rescue

Efforts but of course for the remaining operations we will be doing our best to try to minimize the impact for the rest of the transport of humanitary Goods we have already reported to the Japan transport safety board the accident root cause is start the is starting its investigations now and of

Course we will be working together with relevant agencies to try and come to the root cause and try to avoid this uh situation happening again how long do we expect the runway uh to be shut down for the remaining runways a B and D we are trying to get these up and

Running as soon as possible if possible today uh but we are trying to reopen them by tomorrow at the latest so this will conclude the uh press conf
