Silver lining is that the farmers’ protests against losing one subsidy didn’t make people flock to the party that promises to scrap all subsidies. I really thought people would be that stupid.
I’m surprised. Didn’t polls show that the newly formed party, BSW (Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht) would gain a significant number of votes from current AfD supporters?
So what CDU promises to make different that Merkel couldnt do in all those years in power ?
Less fractured Bundestag please – but not like THIS!
Sad.
Question to Germans: how accurately did these polls map to election results in the past?
Any Germans out there that can explain supporting CDU over Ampel? To my mind CDU have held the reigns for so long they are exactly to blame for all the problems in Germany right now. Yet people seem to be against SPD who have been dealt a terrible hand.
Danke, 5%-Hürde!
Appart from the obvious problems like AfD 22% – there is one that I think is a more general problem for a democracy.

20% of votes that will not be counted towards anything because every party below 5% does not get into parliament. What is missing here is the amount of people who don’t vote at all, those are, in normal elections, slightly more than 20%. For the sake of argument, we are going for exactly 20%, because it gives us a nice little 40% of people whose voice is not represented in this imaginary parliament.
That means that only 60% of the people have elected this parliament. The only reasonable possible government is SPD, CDU and Grüne – that government would have 58%. However, not even close to 40% of the electorate voted for that government.
A third of the population gets to decide as if they were a majority. That is deeply concerning.
Any Jobs for Germans in Denmark?

Couple billion more for Ukraine and AfD and BSW will easily crack 30% soon.
Who would have thought that we would see a Large Coalition (established name for CDU/CSU-SPD-coalitions) after only 1 period of Ampel, even with just 44% of votes behind them?
The AfD is likely underestimated because of shy voters (they are afraid to say who they vote for). All polls were showing Geert Wilders in the Netherlands as second to fourth, but then he was first. Same for Trump and Brexit in 2016.
Does this mean that only 4 parties would enter the next Bundestag? I believe the parties polling 4% are below the line to enter the next legislature. This will likely result in a CDU-Greens coalition.
It’s pretty common for a newly announced party – especially in a country sick of its established parties – to briefly shoot up in polls only to crash back down once people get to know it a little. I imagine that’s all that’s happened here.
Jesus fucking christ.
Looks pretty good
20% of the votes would be neglected. Not good.
it will be a “kenia” coalition in the end. and tbh I am happy with that because CDU cant easily bulldoze everything down again.
hope bsw can steal some more afd votes too. nobody needs FDP and linke either.
It is sad to see how the social democratic parties all over Europe has decided to die on the hill of immigration. They shouldn’t accept the claim of “we need workers”. When the rich people say they can’t get workers, that means they don’t want to pay enough wages.
Can we get a short guide to which is which (right/left/center/pro EU/anti EU/ pro Russian/conservative/liberal etc. + famous politicians if apply?)
AfD = Populist right, CDU = Merkel, that’s all I know.
How brain damaged can you be to vote for AFD or the Union. Thank god i always have an option to leave this rightwing shithole country for Norway.
Funny thing about this is we’re ranting about 2-party systems from overseas, yet election results with these numbers would leave 20% of votes without any actual impact on the result. Just poof, gone.
The party you voted for will get some money to reimburse for campaigning costs, but that’s just about it.
So TVP was actually right when they said that Germans were envious of our PiS government…
How difficult is it for naturally born skilled german workers to get a visa in North-Korea?
… in Germany
Please specify that in the title.
I really hope all the AfD supporters come to their senses

Jamaica looking likely, then.
Edit: forgot that 5% rule, so yes, GroKo or Kenia
