Saw this in my grandparents back garden, Google says 1/100,000 but I don’t believe that😂

Anyone else seen a squirrel like this?

  2. Why don’t you believe the 1 in 100000 figure? Experts have likely calculated that based on the genetic probability. If there are roughly 3 million grey squirrels in the UK, that would mean there are about 30 Albino Grey Squirrels.

  3. Yes, there were 2 or 3 in the country park near me recently, though I’ve not seen one for a year or so. They were leucisitic, so had some colouring – yours looks like it might be an Albino

  6. Albinism is rare in all mammals. I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 in 100,000 is right for a squirrel

    I’ve seen one once.

    You can also get melanistic squirrels which are the opposite, they will have black fur

  7. Me and a friend saw one back in 2019 while we were cycling at Cannock Chase. We got as close as we could to take a photo as we thought at the time that it must be quite rare.

  14. Keep them feeding him until next Tuesday, when it is expected to snow, then you will have a picture in a million!

  16. Saw one a few weeks ago near Hailsham. So not a million miles away from this one.

  21. Yes I’ve seen one! Took me decades to see one tho so I’d say they’re quite rare.

  22. yes they are quite rare . the was one in my village at one time.

  23. Yeah spotting anything/anyone in the open from Hastings Borough Council is rare

    That are melanistic

  25. I saw it back when they had a white squirrel in Dorking.

    Also seen one recently but can’t remember where
