Extremely disappointing but understandable as Germany and the USA have been guilt tripped for decades by the Israelis. Now terrified of being labelled anti-Semitic.
Conveniently, genocide has been defined in writing by the UN and Israel ticks all the boxes:
“To constitute genocide, there must be a proven intent on the part of perpetrators to physically destroy a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. Cultural destruction does not suffice, nor does an intention to simply disperse a group.”
Israel could be rounding up Palestinians and Germany would sell them the equipment to do it, and would arrest anybody who questioned them for being a terrible antisemite.

Saw a poster the other day on a walk. It was about the situation in Darfur and it said “Help stop the real genocide” and I couldn’t agree more with the message. This focus on the Palestinian issue and blowing it out of all proportions hurts Israel, but it hurts victims of real genocide and oppression far far more. It’s almost like having one UN agency for all the world’s refugees and another just for the Palestinians (UNRWA)
I don’t understand why people continues to call it a genocide when 90% of the people killed in gaza are members of Hamas

Calling it a genocide is a bit far. Israel has the right to defend itself and they tried for years to keep the peace but in the end we all know it’s impossible to deal in a peaceful manner with extremists and fanatics.
How is destruction of terrorist state a genocide? Palestinians would outclass Hitler, Stalin and even Mao if given a chance and means.

1. Killing members of the group
2. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group
3. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part
4. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group
5. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group
Given much of the Israel stance is to wipe out Hamas, who, can be anywhere according to the Israel government, the first point could be argued.
1-3 are true.
4. Is close to being true given there are only 4 barely functioning hospitals in the south “safe zone”
5. Although many are taken by the IFD it’s no where near enough to count this point.
So we are on 4/6, almost 5…

Germany is of course infamous for always being on the right side of history
The west is morally bankrupt
Imagine ending up on the wrong side of 2 of the most infamous genocides of the last 100 years.
