Hi everyone,
FundTheNINE is co-hosting a public consultation in conjunction with another campaign, Rail Revive North, to take public comments on the proposal to reopen the Antrim – Lisburn (Knockmore) Railway Line.
As of current, Translink is undertaking a feasibility study to prove that the line’s reopening will be a worthwhile venture. We anticipate that this will be a success based on the current outlook and the many factors that support the proposal.
Our plan is that upon reopening, the line would once again serve Antrim, Crumlin, Glenavy, Ballinderry and Lisburn, but with a brand new station at Belfast International Airport. With services running at two per hour in each direction, this line would quickly become a vital part of the Northern Irish tourism industry.
If you wish to contribute to this consultation then head to the link below, and consider sharing it with your friends and family!

Would it be upgraded to a double line?
As you are no doubt aware it is currently a single track (which makes 2-way traffic challenging).
Making it a double track a mammoth task I would have thought.
I’d love to see it reopened as I live close to Glenavy.
This just looks like a student’s survey, to me. Can you provide links to Translink sources?
>is undertaking a feasibility study **to prove** that the line’s reopening will be a worthwhile venture
That isn’t what a feasibility study does, exactly… That, along with the lack of Translink links/apparent validation, lack of information, there isn’t even a map of the line/proposed lines in any of the above links that I can see.
