In terms of historic buildings I’m quite fond of [Rufford Old Hall](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b4/Rufford_Old_Hall_Great_Hall.jpg). It’s not the biggest, but it’s a really good example of a Tudor great hall and still has its [moveable screen](https://www.nationaltrustcollections.org.uk/object/783876) – these were commonly used to separate the main part of a hall from the kitchens and service areas, but Rufford’s is the only surviving example.
The Bridge House in Ambleside is fun. [As seen in this 1974 BBC ‘Weird & Wonderful’ snippet.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiR3FT8Napo)
Longshaw Estate and Padley Gorge. Part of the Eastern Moors Partnership with RSPB which means there’s spectacular beautiful wild spaces managed for wildlife 15 mins from my house in the city.
Also Barafundle is the excellent debut album by Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, named after the bay you chose.
Shhhh! Don’t tell everyone or they’ll all want to go there! 🙂
I kid, Pembrokeshire is a beautiful place.
Went to Wales for the first time last year, stayed in Pembrokeshire. Barafundle was amazing, especially the walk over the cliffs to the beach.
Aira Force and The Langdales in the Lakes is worth a visit every time, I never get tired of them.
Cragside is my favourite. So many different parts of it to explore. It’s a bit of a trip to get to so Wallington is the one we visit the most.
I guess Tredegar House because it’s local to me? Also a lovely building with an interesting history.
Incidentally, Barafundle is the name of my favourite Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci album.
I’m go shout out for Sutton Hoo and Orford Ness.
Not necessarily because they are my favourites but because they are local and both totally unique and important sites, well worth visiting.
