So, I have always been in love with Scandinavia and all my father gave me was 3 days to visit Denmark. It made more sense to limit myself to the area of København! I plan on going to these places + Hillerød and the Louisiana Museum! Would you recommend anything more or anything less? Ohh, and what are your favorite food places in this area?
Ps: I will bought the Copenhagen card anyways, so the prices of exhibitions or etc really do not matter.

Do you own warm clothes? Do you have a rain set? You will need both.
What do you want to do? Just look at buildings/architecture?Do you want fancy food (michelin) or “just” good food?

This is a pretty good breakdown. I’d add taking a harbour tour – they’re great value for money, and also BYOB. Take coffee & pastries or wine and snacks and enjoy! They have covered and heated boats depending on the weather.
Make Glyptoteket a priority, also Statens Museum for Kunst is worth a visit, if you are into art.
If it works for your schedule, I would walk from Christiansboeg up to Kastellet. You see a lot of landmarks that way (Christiansborg, Nyhavn, Amalienborg, Marmorkirken, Operaen, Kastellet, and the little mermaid).
I’d also recommend asking /r/Copenhagen
Come to Thyborøn instead. It’s much better than stupid copenhagen
Yeah don’t be stupid going there.. Is the land of depression and misery.. A police state controlled by the tax mafia..
Kind of a detour from the typical downtown stuff you have planned, but going up north to Helsingør and visiting Kronborg castle is my highlight of visiting with my family. You can even take a ferry boat over to Sweden if you have the time! 10/10 would recommend
In my opinion you should visit the real denmark north jutland, thats like saying you have been to russia because you have visiting moscow. Copenhagen is a shithole.
If you go to Amalienborg (the castle(s) where the queen and very-soon-to-be king lives), make sure to be there at 12:00 noon. That’s when the changing of the guards happen. Every day.
With only three days I would prioritize Helsingør and Kronborg over Hilleroed. Not much to see in Sweden/Helsinborg but you can tick off Sweden from your bucketlist 🙂
Reffen is overrated. The portions are small, expensive and quite bland.
Louisiana is nice but unless you’re a modern art lover I wouldn’t waste the time as your time in Copenhagen is limited.
Don’t forget to see Christiania. It’s so much more than just pusher street. Go there on a sunday evening and enjoy a free concert.
If you are coming this weekend, know that there is the coronation of the new king, so there’s gonna be a lot of events around the city. Expect madness over the weekend.
I would add the little mermaid after Nyhavn
Warm clothes
Stay hydrated
Id highly recommend Frederiksborg Slot which is in Hillerød. Breathtaking castle
Olhe as datas, porque a cidade tem bastante eventos. E a cidade eh bem diferente no verão. Se animar praia, rolam umas tb.
you should check out bakken aswell, oldest theme park in the world
Botanisk Have (botanical garden) is really nice in the spring/summer
Don’t eat at the restaurants in Nyhavn. It’s rubbish and a tourist trap. But nonetheless I nice spot to walk through or sit near the water.
And as other have mentioned, take a round trip with the boats that departs from Nyhavn. “Netto boats” are much cheaper and gives the same tour, of what I know of.
Denmark isn’t just Copenhagen… Copenhagen sucks
Copenhagen is cool. Really. Have you considered visiting Denmark outside of the metropol?
Another approach is to plan out three entire days including food, things to enjoy etc., taking advantage of it being super walkable, which typically blows peoples minds.
Full walking day example:
Start on Østerport (take metro from hotel). Walk to the Little Mermaid, walk up and around Kastellet, walk to Seaside Food for some food and chill, walk along the water to Amalienborg, walk to Marmorkirken, and then get a coffee on Bredgade. Walk from there through Skt Annæ to Nyhavn, and see the area (don’t eat at the restaurants). Walk across the bridge at end of Nyhavn, and eat lunch at the street kitchen (Broens Gadekøkkken) or Popl. Walk from there to Strandgade, and see canals on route to Church of our Savior. After you’ve seen the church, either go see Christiania, get some wine at Figo, or go to Friendships and rent a boat for chilling on the water for an hour or two.
You almost won’t see a car the entire day.
Another thing is that Copenhagen has by far the best bread in the world. Check out a list of best bakeries, and make sure to visit some!
When are you traveling?
I know in late spring and summer you can sail with a miniature Ferry in Hillerød by the Castle
It is driven by a groups of elderly. Can recommend trying it!
Looking for tips in Denmark or just Copenhagen?
What are you into? Bars, nightlife? Museums? History? Hiking?
One tip: passa em Odense colega e a gente bebe umas caipirinhas em minha casa ahah
I would recommend Gasoline Grill if you’re looking to treat yourself to a nice burger, it’s a very tasty experience!
30 mins from Hillerød – visit Tisvildeleje, a small coastal town with beautiful beaches, the place rich danish people go during holidays. Way less touristed than any of the above, and in my opinion way more interesting 🙂
I have to suggest biking in Copenhagen. I always enjoyed it when i was there.
Coming from Hamburg i must say the Copenhagen bike infrastructure is quite superior.
They are in love with Denmark 🇩🇰
A beautiful country❤️✨
Parece um bom plano para 3 dias. Uma ideia, se fores de trem, é passar um dia em Aarhus porque é meio que no caminho e um dia é suficiente para uma visita rápida.
Ho
Yeh, stay out of Copenhagen this weekend, it’s going to be crowded as all hell due to the coronation, oh and don’t try to buy weed in christiania for the foreseeable future, the cops will soak you up
