  1. Orban is a coward who licks Putin’s boots and bows to China

  2. >Article 354
For the purposes of Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union on the suspension of certain rights resulting from Union membership, the member of the European Council or of the Council representing the Member State in question shall not take part in the vote and the Member State in question shall not be counted in the calculation of the one third or four fifths of Member States referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 of that Article. Abstentions by members present in person or represented shall not prevent the adoption of decisions referred to in paragraph 2 of that Article.

  3. It’s great that the parliament has power and definitely isn’t just a powerless rubber stamping body…

  4. I probably get downvoted for this, but it would have been better if those MEPs had made their demands in this way before the war in Ukraine. At least before the decision about the 50 billion fund. Because now this looks less like a concern about fundamental values, but more about keeping up the funding for Ukraine.

  5. So they want to take away their voting rights because they voted in the “wrong” way?

  6. Which country in EU council might decline the movement toward step 2? Poland change goverments and is more pro-EU, any other dark horses?

  7. Eu democracy! When somebody do not vote you want, you stripp his vote 😄

  8. Everyone has the right to vote in a democracy, but when ONE vote holds more weight than over 20 votes then you’re no longer a parliament but a mental asylum masquerading as a democratic institution. A simple majority should be enough for any resolution to pass.

  9. I’m so happy that again a change in Poland is the start of a back ‘fuck you Russia’ in Europe.

We as poles managed to overthrow one of the two pro-Russian governments (or ‘usefull idiots’) in the EU leaving Orban as the sole bootlicker of Russian interest in EU.

Maybe with that little push like in 1989 we will expunge this evil once again from Europe.

  10. I dislike Orban, but its a contradiction for a democratical institution like the EU to strip a members veto rights just because they hold an unpopular view. It’s gives the message certain member states have more rights within the union.

Good luck I suppose to Eastern European EU members if they ever go against the interests of Germany and France.

  11. Hell yeah lets give up sovereignty to the franco-german superstate!
