That’s actually refreshing! I had a credit with Eir of like 6 euros and they made it so difficult I gave up. This seems a bit more straightforward

Telecom companies over here aren’t bad in general. They’re mostly okay, but eir is so terribly bad, it brings the perception of the entire industry down.
I’ve been with virgin media and Vodafone for broadband since I came here 7 years ago, and I never had an issue with either. Three on mobile with the old plan where you can use your credit elsewhere, and quite happy with that too (though they had some weird issues with scheduled top ups before).
A few years back, my dad cancelled Eir and they owed him €76, and he never got it back. If people are owed money at the end of their contract, their money should be return without even applying.
It would be a lot easier for everyone if they sent it though the bank and they know you won’t bother cashing it

Virgin fucked me royally this week. Bought a new house, moving this weekend. Called virgin twice over the last two and a half weeks to arrange a technician to come out and set us up. Sales guys kept telling me it’s sorted. Called today as no one showed and was told there was no appointment. Next available date is 7th Feb. I work from home and my new commute to to office is going to be around 1 hour 40 mins. Fuck Virgin
