Iceland volcano – emergency declared as lava sets town on fire | BBC News

Now this is the dramatic new eruption of a volcano in Southwest Iceland the authorities have now declared an emergency in the area near the fishing town of grindvik around 25 miles from the capital reic now some homes have been engulfed in molten lava with one official saying the eruption is the most

Serious threat posed by a volcano in Iceland in half a century Jessica Parker has the very latest this was a worst case scenario that’s now unfolding in front of the world’s eyes a wave of molten rock is carving its way into what was a thriving fishing town grindvik has been evacuated

Again but abandoned homes and businesses lie in the path of an overwhelming natural force this it appears was the first house to fall well this is a bit surreal to watch your family home just disappear I’m still realizing what’s happening trucks building defensive barriers against the lava suddenly found it surging towards

Them fiery liquid burst out into the open on Sunday morning another Fisher then tore up through the Earth today is a black day for grindvik and today is a black day for Iceland but the sun will rise again together we will deal with this shock whatever may

Happen we reported from grindvik back in November before eruptions began people had to pack up their belongings as earthquakes ripped the town apart this is now the second eruption on the raikin peninsula within a month and follows several others in recent years before that this part of Iceland hadn’t

Seen volcanic activity for 800 years there was a per called the ring his fires um and that’s when multiple fissures just opened up on the peninsula um kind of sporadically um and um did pretty much what we’re seeing today um and then it went quite for 800

Years and then it now seems since 2021 we’ve begun a sort of new volcanic era people here are no Stranges to earthquakes and eruptions but this kind of potential destruction of people’s homes and livelihoods hasn’t happened for half a century I think the point is that we’ve

Had quite a lot of experience in dealing with this even though this is perhaps the most serious threat of volcanic eruptions in Iceland since January 1973 the land of Fire and Ice is an endless display of Nature’s awesome power this time what’s playing out makes for an astounding but awful sight

  1. Lava destroyed 3 houses out of something like 350. It didn't engulf the community. What has made Grindavik question its viability is the crust moving out from under it, causing cracks both seen and more dangerously, unseen.

  2. Isn't that whathe conqenqences are foryhose. Who proke God and his people and their mokden images god says you can't pu out of he fite so don't tey nothing going tonsave them or the ifthey did what God said andbobeyed his commandment and out away their lies and homosexuals and oeositution and perverteness and adultey and whoring and obes God than maybebhis wrath wouldn't on gom must have totom pole and graven imagea of people and animals and nicnacks of pottery of animals or aanythinbin jeaven or underneath the earth. 3. It's very sad. I lost my home in a fire and I had lost my technology home as well.
I did not have insurance and I lost everything I owned and homeless. On my land over 6 years now, paperwork. And other it was beyond my control.
The seat and cover up beyond my control

  4. Pack it up and leave get the hell out of there if you're smart you'd leave right now move the heck out of there it's not going to get any better trust

  5. 🐟🙏🐠🙏🐡🙏🌋🔥🔥🌋🔥🏚🏚🔥🏚🔥🔥🏚🔥🐟🖕🐠🖕🐡🖕
Translation: the long-suffering fish prayed to the fire gods for relief from the murderous fishermen and their prayers were not in vain.

  6. EEKK! Global Warming! Hey, where is St. Greta the Supine or is it DIvine? to preach to the nasty volcano that its emitting green house gasses, and must follow all the Green Crazy rules?

  7. Mother nature is psycho! One second she is the most beautiful thing ever, making you breathless, and the next, she's ripping out every fiber of your being, and leaving you breathless. Take heart knowing you prepare for the worst, and usually get it. For those that don't, that sucks! Volcanism trumps man's best efforts.

  8. Volcanic erruptions do happen every now and then in our world. But at an increased rate like this global warming may be a catalyst. All the glacier melting that has been happening in the past may have an effect on lava flowing near the surface in some places with volcanic acrivity. The 1st world countries that have refused cooperating with scientists for a long while have made the mistakes of their life. We are suffering from the major consequences of global warming. May our Lord have mercy on our world. Hopefully this lava activity will calm down and the residents of all those wrecked areas will regain the opportunitues to rebuild their homes once again.

  9. Paul beagley Mike from around the world on every Thursday evening he had warned & warned so accurate just like he warned about Turkey Earthquake. Amazing guy to listen too. Much more is comng. Be prepared.

  10. 'Lava Engulfs Town' ??!!!

    'Houses engulfed' ??!

    That sounds bizarre lmao 😂

What type of verbal spell are you sicko deep state propagandists trying to cast upon the world now, through your BBC BS witchcraft?? You all know VERY WELL this exceeds even extreme hyperbole!

Keep repeating the words, as your WEF etc overlords have told you to, 'engulf engulf engulf' 😅 swing your pendulum back and forth before the eyes of the public, and say you are getting sleepier and sleepier, you are in golf! You lot are all so transparent, even the blind can see what you're doing.

Not only does it sound repetitive and moronic, it's not real, that's not happening and didn't happen. And some of us know what you are up to, with your evil Maoist/Marxist psy op techniques.

God is greater! And not the god you serve, lucifer.

  11. All my shallow and empty internet thoughts and prayers to the people of Iceland .
    I have never met
you and I have no intention of ever going to the barren wasteland you choose to live in .
But here is an empty pointless praying hands emoji to assuage my uncaring feeling for you unfortunate situation .🙏
