To sum up in English, Serie A is exploring playing an entire round of league matchdays overseas. There are a lot of issues with this, including Uefa and FIFA approval and unlikely to involve every team or ever happening however for fun I’ve proposed the below match ups and sites. I am using the Serie A and Serie B standings as of Jan. 23, 2024 with the assumption that the bottom 3 of Serie A (Verona, Empoli, Salernitana) are relegated and top 3 in Serie B (Parma, Como, Venezia) are promoted. Match ups are based on geography, stadium size, marketability and also taking into account average attendance for the teams to maximize league revenue

Juventus v Milan (New Jersey, USA- MetLife Stadium)

Bologna v Napoli (Toronto, Canada – BMO Field)

Frosinone v Inter Milan (Beijing China-Worker’s Stadium

Fiorentina v Roma (Al Rayyan, Qatar – Khalifa International Stadium)

Atalanta v Lazio (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-King Saud University Stadium

Lecce-Parma (Tirana, Albania – Arena Kombetare)

Sassuolo – Monza (San Marino Stadium expanded to 10k capacity)

Cagliari v Torino (Corsica, France – Stade Francois Coty)

Venezia v Udinese (Ljubljana, Slovenia – Stozice Stadium)

Como v Genoa (Lausanne, Switzerland – Stade Olympique de la Pontaise)

  1. If the SuperCup showing is any indication, I guarantee you the stadiums will be mostly empty for those matches except for Juventus – Milan. Of the others, maybe only Bologna-Napoli will get a bit more of a crowd.

  2. Milan Juve in the USA does make a bit of sense money-wise, but it’s so stupid to deprive the Italian fans of the chance to attend matches against their rivals.

Sassuolo Monza in San Marino, I mean okay? I guess it’s still on the Italian peninsula and relatively near Sassuolo’s stadium in Reggio Emilia, but what’s the point in downgrading to a much smaller stadium like the one in Serravalle?

All of the other ones (except Inter in China and *maybe* Fiorentina Roma in Qatar) make no sense at all, I really can’t see people from those countries being interested.

  3. No, no, no, stop Serie A, wtf are you doing? Isn’t this year’s Supercoppa enough to make you see that’s dumb idea?

  4. That’s literally what pre season friendless are for. That’s plenty enough

  5. I hope all these clowns go to jail. Don’t care what for but as long as they stop doing all this bullshit
