‘It’s not a surprise’: Netanyahu rejects two-state solution • FRANCE 24 English

And bring in the ABC correspondent Jordana Miller Jordana good to talk to you clearly causing a rift verbally with the White House the spokes President John Kirby saying that well we differ in our approach and our view on this is it a surprise that Benjamin Netanyahu is given this

Statement I don’t think it’s a surprise Gavin um many people here have long believed the Nan does not support a Palestinian State and though he says he’s been consistent uh you know many years ago he gave what was called the famous bar Lon speech when President

Obama was in power and he did there lend his support for the idea of a Palestinian state so netan has also flip-flopped but even when he made that statement uh I think it was clear many people did not believe him and over the years we’ve seen that he has not moved

The political process forward and I think now Netanyahu because the country is in such a crisis after October 7th and in the middle of the war um and uh there are no signs of election right now and natany is stating you know his plan for the future which certainly

Speaks excuse me speaks to his base his right-wing base but if we take a closer look Natan is essentially saying I believe that there is a military solution to Hamas and to our problem with the Palestinians and people have for many years now said that is simply not going to be the case

And somehow Natan still believes that if he defeats Hamas and sets up some kind of uh government in a governing body in the Gaza Strip that that is somehow better than a pal a demilitarized internationally backed Palestinian State and many people are arguing we could you

Know we could just see uh is could see itself in 30 years fighting a similar war in the Gaza Strip in other words this cycle will go on and on and on unless we find a political solution and that is also the position not only of some centrists here and and people in

The leftwing camp but obviously the United States which yesterday uh the remarks of the state department were very clear they said the United States is not pushing Israel into any direction but it is certainly putting an opportunity on the table uh an opportunity to even normalize ties with

Saudi Arabia uh if Israel can pave a path towards Palestinian statehood and you know at this point Natan is rejecting that opportunity uh could that change later possibly but right now you know if ABA even were here the famous um the famous foreign minister for Israel he always said that the Palestinians

Never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity he may say he might have said the same thing now about Netanyahu very interesting the US saying that they will keep the conversation going as you say Netanyahu flip-flopping on this in the past but seemed very clear at the moment tell us what’s going

On inside on the ground in Gaza at the moment the Israeli forces saying they’ve reached the most southern point of the strip well Israel continues uh to you know intensely fight uh Hamas terrorists in southern Gaza the fighting there is expected to be intense for weeks if not

Months uh because it turns out that as Israel’s intelligence was off uh or in the dark about what was happening with hamas’s military capabilities especially its tunnels in Northern Gaza uh that has been even more so the case in southern Gaza uh where there are Miles and Miles

Of tunnels and Hamas uh Fighters there that fled the North and went to the South and the battlefield is complicated of course by the fact that Israel believes some of those hostages are there but Israel now moving to the southernmost point you know Israel now has begun to openly talk about its

Operation in the future to take What’s called the Philadelphia quarter that is the border between Egypt and Gaza where a lot of weapon smuggling happened so as it was expected Israel’s moving further and further south thank you Jordan Jordan Miller uh ABC correspondent in Jerusalem stay

With us as well we’ll be speaking to UNICEF later in this program about the situation facing children across the strip next it’s been 3 month

“Somehow Netanyahu still believes that if he defeats Hamas and set up some kind of governing body in the Gaza strip, it’s better than a demilitarised, internationally-backed Palestinian state”, Jordana Miller, ABC news correspondent in Israel, told FRANCE 24.

  1. "Rightists' due to Arab terrorisn daily inside Israel. 86 percent of Palestinians identify with Oct 7 Hamas and would vote them in. Cuba was quarantined by U.S. during U.S. Cuban missile crisis. 90 miles away was Cuba from Miami. So you think Israel going suicidal by allowing a pro Hamas state just a very few miles from its border? Think again ‏‪‬‏

  2. Restoring Israel was like Jurassic park movie🦖. Bringing monsters back from the past. Now we've got a proper horror movie on our hands…

  3. Didn’t want to hurt civilians So those 25,000 in just three months dead majority women and children killed themselves! So you didn’t indiscriminately bomb use dumb shells schools un-facilities hospitals refugee camps & their university ? You didn’t loot houses shops even exchange rate booths as the IDF had noted be in their words even jewelers??! and it’s been verified by UNWRA of people have identified their family heirlooms in videos of the IDF you didn’t desecrate graveyards and by cnns video 16 in total ? SEE THATS WHY I don’t trust a word you say and that doesn’t mean we don’t have Compassion for the hostages and their families

Hey Sherlock Shylock if it was just to move them out of the way why the need to bomb then demolition 70% of their infrastructure and then your president comes out today to say that your going to occupy Gaza and why are real estate offices a month now advertising plots of lands in Gaza for settlement??

  4. Who Is PM Netanyahu Wont To Position As What He Like As Palestine Country Status . Palestine Be Indepandence Freedom Country. – Thanks All, …. Cheerio.*****.

  5. Say NO to two state, how can you accept two state with people that hate your guts? If it left with me I would assist "Palestinians" to settle in Jordan or any Arabic country of their choice

  6. So you think that the phrase from the river to the sea is the same for Hamas as what Netanyahu said?

Let me laugh for a while.

No Hamas, No government that tries to make Israel disappear, And the Palestinians can have their State. Control of the territory does not mean that the Palestinians have no right to their state. But certain conditions have to be met. If Netanyahu wanted to destroy the Palestinians, Gaza would no longer exist within a few days of when the war began.

  7. I have a good idea….North America…Canada and the USA……in particular Canada is working on what they call reconciliation with the Indigenous people. Indigenous people feel they have been oppressed ( they have ), Canada took their children from parents and put them in residential schools and abused them horribly. In addition, USA and Canada stole the indigenous land from the people who were definitely here first. My good ideal…two state solution. Why is it imperative for Israel, and not Canada or the USA. I am not seeing a big difference.

  8. Palestinian people will get their entire land that isreal stolen and Palestinian people will not ask . They will fight until they get everything back.

  9. US actually is not only supporting Israel in battlefield unconditionally but also actually supporting Israel / Netanyahu’s One State (Israel) solution secretly. Americans just playing tricks with two-faces, trying to fool the world.

  10. A two state solution in the geographical region known as 'Palestine' has existed for over 75 years: Jordan and Israel. Mandate Palestine (July 24th, 1922) partitioned 'Palestine' into an Arab demarcation and a Jewish/minority demarcation. The Arab partition became sovereign Jordan in 1946 and the Jewish/minority partition became sovereign Israel in 1948 (Reference: Mandate Palestine: July 24th, 1922 and the Transjordan Memorandum: Sept. 16th, 1922).

  11. Netanyahu is on the record since the 1980s saying that the Palestinians already have a state in called Jordan. That is the one thing he has in common with the Palestinians: neither want a two-state solution.

  12. “Scoffer” is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride (Proverbs 21:24).

Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease (Proverbs 22:10).

The devising of folly is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to mankind (Proverbs 24:9)…

  13. We are not surprised the world can see why Israel will always create instability Palestine. You steel there land are put Miltary to protect your people. Even if Hamas is taken out a new liberation group will be born. Every human wants freedom.

  14. OK, let's look at Joe Biden, Joe opened the Southern border unconditionally, now tell me, America now has its own 52 State Solutions, how is that now ??? A mess.
