Met Office makes rare move issuing amber wind alert for almost whole of Britain and Northern Ireland

Some breaking news now to bring you and the Met Office has extended its Amber wind warning to cover most of the UK ahead of storm Isa now two 12-hour Amber wind warnings will be in place from 6:00 tonight on Sunday until uh Monday morning one stretches across central

Eastern and western England and all of Wales only missing London and parts of the southeast uh the other covers all of Scotland and Northern England and Northern Ireland

The Met Office has extended its amber wind alerts to cover most of the UK in a rare move ahead of Storm Isha – warning of potential “danger to life” in some areas

  1. The large tree outside my window is perfectly still. Thats how we can tell if there is going to be gael force winds. Its where the expression 'calm before the storm comes from'. Farmers have always used that method, so that they can bring any livestock outdoors to shelter.

  2. I'm glad they told us about this storm, because just like all the other ones recently I would never have noticed if they didn't. I didn't realise that being a bit windy was classed as a storm these days.
