How is this good for the US economy?

  1. Usually, I hate memes simplification of issues. But this one is right. Pharma has gotten protection from congress that allow them to enforce patents for decades and that protect them from competition. For example, the high cost of insulin can be attributed in part to “evergreening,” i.e. where drug companies make minor improvements to their products that can extend the life of their patents. Things like tinkering with a molecule or changing the delivery system, such as using insulin pens instead of vials 2. They use all kinds of gifts, education and other incentives to doctors to rx the formulation.

At times reformers have tried to pass legislation prohibiting pharma from charging more in the US than in other countries – but this clearly is not working.

  2. Enable import from Canada and Mexico. This problem is so grossly entrenched

  3. Its great to be making money money, but common dont you guys want a healthy population

money can solve allot of things and is a great thing, but dont capitalise on peoples health too

  4. Canada’s health care is going in the exact same direction as we speak 🤦‍♂️

  5. Thomas Sowell with another terrible take that is designed to do nothing but pander to those people that like to call him “one of the good ones”.

  6. Robert Reich is bad for your mental health, dude knows absolutely nothing about economics

  7. This is 2018 data. That’s how long this tweet has been reposted over and over.

  8. Instead of buying insulin you need to buy shares in Pfizer first.

  9. A necessary drug should not be the reflection of the economy.

  10. When people get fat at an exponential rate, insulin gets more expensive at an exponential rate
