The Athletic: Some of the new arrivals at Chelsea have privately expressed regret at the long-term contracts they have signed and do not see the grand project that was sold to them in the first place.

The players need to take accountability too.
Their performances haven’t been good enough, especially considering the money they earn.
Unless the player in question is perhaps Enzo Fernandez the rest of them don’t have much cause for complaint. They should be focussed on improving their own performance before worrying about the quality of the others.
Who could have possibly seen this coming? When all these big signings were made, it was like a chorus of, yeah this is a bad idea.
*taps head*
Can’t lose the dressing room if it’s already lost.
I think Liverpool are the happiest about this. Caicedo, thank g-d you said no
This is quite wonderful news. After all those years of getting away with financial doping under Putin’s mate they deserve to be completely obliterated under the dumb yanks. I hope the club crumbles into dust
This is all true, and sort of obvious. But I think the biggest impact seems to have been on Thiago Silva. He’s gone from Van Dijk (ignore Sunday’s aberration!) to Maguire level in 5 months of Poch!
I don’t know a single person who thought what Chelsea was doing was a good idea that would bring them success and most thought it was going to blow up in their faces quickly. I am still shocked and awed by their ridiculous spending since Toilet Boehly and Co took over, but not at all surprised to see the egg on all their faces less than a season afterwards.
Well there’s a surprise
I don’t believe for a second any of the players factored in a ‘grand project’ over ‘buckets of money’ when signing their Chelsea contracts.
HahahhahahahaHAHHAHAHAHHAA
How awful, I feel so sorry for them. Must be hard accepting all that money.
No shit
Another one
That bat shit lazy journos are busy doing hit jobs for clicks now…Todd B and Egballi…see what yall have done?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ll probably get downvoted for this but I do have sympathy for the Chelsea fans – I don’t think it was right that Abramovich was forced to sell or that Tuchel was just thrown out the way he was.
Say what you want about Abramovich but at least he seemed to genuinely care about Chelsea FC, and had a good structure in place that kept Chelsea competitive for like 2 decades.
This American fella clearly isn’t a fit and proper owner, doesn’t really give a shit about the club and will probably run it into the ground.
Chelsea are proper fucked
Absolute LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL fucking joke of a club
Chelsea makes United look like a well ran club. Thanks Boehly
Maybe these players’ agents should have told them how stupid it was to sign 8 year contracts in the first place.
I find it hard to have that much sympathy. Chelsea (or at least the people running them) knew the contracts were a bad idea, but kept handing them out, the players knew signing these contracts with an untested leadership structure after a massive club overhaul was a risk. They all did it for the money.
You made your bed, lads.
This could get really nasty in 3-4 years time.
Insert a gif of the two old men muppets throwing their heads back laughing.
You have been Boehlyed
Unless the Saudis provide another get out of jail card to Chelsea in the form of buying all their unwanted players again they could be facing an existential crisis.
Surprised Pikachu face
These guys aren’t even on big wages and if they’re uneasy about their contracts I highly doubt Todd Boehly will stop them from leaving so he can sign new toys you guys eat this shit up and are so stupid for it.
