Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive of Meta, spoke directly to victims and their family members as he testified during the US Senate judiciary committee hearing on Wednesday.
After an intense line of questioning by the Republican senator Josh Hawley, who asked Zuckerberg if he would like to apologise to families of victims who were sitting in the audience holding photos of children they say died or were harmed due to his platform, Zuckerberg stood up and faced them.

They should thank him for creating Facebook and Meta, just because some minority abusing the platform. It doesn’t mean it is his fault. Everyone has a freedom right ?
Marketing gimmick. They won’t do anything.
Parents responsibility????? Nah, easier to blame a CEO. Perhaps we should shut down the entire Internet? Holding Zuckerberg personally responsible says a lot about the US Senate. Gross.
Firearms is the leading cause if death in this country for teens. The NRA never testify about illegal gun sale and failed restrictions….
After this the shares of meta went up with 20%. It is a sick world.
This isnt the CEOs fault, its the fault of the parents. Social media as a whole has risks, if your a parent whos unwilling to moderate what your children see then you cant be mad when they see something you dont want then too.
The fact that this video cuts off mid answer shows you that this whole thing is pointless theater.
Imagine being a regulator and asking a CEO to apologize for your inability to do your job
Still waiting for him to apologize for causing a genocide in Myanmar.. but it's obvious he won't, even though he directly caused it.
Imagine a world without FACEBOOK. As a millennial, I can live with that. But the gen zs and the gen alphas – They will commit suicide.
In india Facebook promote hatred.Bjp uses Facebook, Twitter, insta as tool to promote hatred.
Wow! That was easy! I'm sure no one will notice.
If he has apologized, shouldn't our Gov. apologize to ten of thousands of innocent American citizens that are being harassed by people abusing the US Gov. monitoring satellites ? 😢😢 People like the retired General Dynamics director more than 85 yrs old 😢😢
He should be held accountable i can't tell how many crimes committed with his platform his company lacks focus on protecting his customers
In my opinion, with so many people using Facebook and Instagram, it's high time these platforms incorporated the police force into their operations. This way, the police would no longer be an external party to Facebook or Instagram, but would be working internally within the companies themselves. This would involve applying applicable criminal laws and conducting internal surveillance within Facebook or Instagram. I believe this would have a major impact on the online criminal landscape. By having the police involved internally within Facebook or Instagram, it would clearly reduce the potential for crime on these platforms.
It's just like blaming OF that kids are watching corn but not blaming parents for not having supervision on their own kids and not blaming those who are well aware they are going on 18+ sites and buying subscriptions that aren't appropriate for their age
Why don't government put regulations on both sides of parents and Social media companies. Govt. Sits there to take up lead on these issues and hold accountability because ultimately they are Boss?
This is so sick, I mean the senators.
I don't know why Zuckerberg was grilled like this, this hearing is crazy.I don't like his stuff,Facebook. But what actually he has done wrong? 😅😅
What next ?
The "Victim"parents will lay blame on Zuckerberg in law suit for caused their children's death.Talking multi million dollars compensation of money grabbing!
Utterly farcical. No wonder why so many politicians are held in such low regard. Really cheap showboating that achieves nothing. This has had no effect whatsoever on Facebook and its business. The politicians are not even tech literate. If they were they would be aiming to rewrite tax laws but that room is full of paid up lobbyists for Facebook.
Whether this is logical or not, I love this evil guy like this.
