  3. I am happy for the people of El Salvador! Nayib Bukele is making their country great and a safe place.

  4. In Chile the majority of the population (80%) wanted to change the constitution set under Pinochet to change a tax structure that favored the super rich to the detriment of lower classes. The left wing government decided to tack on a myriad of other "progressive" issues to a referendum presented to the people. Over 60% of the population that voted voted against the proposed changes!!
    Now, a populist government in El Salvador that has cleaned up an atrocious crime ridden country that made citizens suffer and flee skirts the constitution and crushes election rivals. The overwhelming majority are ecstatic. Now progressive "critics" fear "democratic values" that allowed the horrendous crime and conditions to persist are under attack. Any wonder people are rejecting left wing idealism that sees societies crumbling for populist realism.
